 Orientation to Homecare VHS

Every applicant for license and every person who provides direct care, supervision of direct care, or management of services for a provider must complete an orientation to home care requirements before providing home care services to clients. (MN Licensure Rule 4668.0075) 

The topics that must be included in this orientation are: 

• An overview of the home care statute 

• The Home Care Bill of Rights 

• Client complaints and reporting complaints to the Office of Health Facility Complaints at the Minnesota Department of Health 

• Services of the Ombudsman for Older Minnesotans 

• Reporting the maltreatment of vulnerable minors or adults 

• Emergency plan and the use of emergency services 

Orientation to MN Home Care video and manual addresses each of these topics and provide suggestions for policies, procedures, and forms to assure compliance with the specifics of this rule.
